not too sure if the people i come in contact with find themselves as captivating as i do. with a slight astigmatism in my right eye and tension in my left brain i release through sight. in February of 2009 i relocated to New York for the same reason everyone does, to live the dream. rising with the sun, each day a new exploration. my average trek spread 30 blocks of concrete streets as i documented motion, people, and space. from weaving down 5th Ave to stomach-churning cabs ride in Brooklyn to riding my bike across three bridges one spring Saturday, I watched the city move and i moved with the city. i became the creep on the subway watching people behind my shades, sitting in the corner sketching my thoughts on a napkin.
inspired by theatre course work dissecting human interaction, i spent endless days taking intimate footage of friends and strangers. fact, everyone is beautiful, capturing their essence brings me joy. my work is built on the interactions made with people when you step beyond the bubble. when you can feel their energy radiating off their skin and it has the strength to control yours. energy is a force of power.
we are directly and indirectly manipulated by energy. social media is a power of energy that eats away at our brains. anger is an energy that brings destruction. sex is an energy that clouds our judgement. love is an energy that can save us all. common law states that mass and energy can not be created or destroyed. if only the masses refocused their energy.
please enjoy
